March 6, 2017 – McCandless Town Council Meeting Notes

Last night’s McCandless Town Council Meeting:

Following up on a letter written to council, Councilwoman Kim Zachary attempted to discuss making a motion for a liaison to write brief descriptions of topics discussed at Committee meetings, citing that meeting minutes are consistently over a month late in being posted to the town’s website. Zachary felt that citizens wanted to know the content of the committee discussions prior to the release of the meeting minutes. Councilpersons Ralph LeDonne and Joan Powers shut down the request in a heated discussion.

In the township’s March newsletter, it was announced that town council meetings will be recorded for broadcast. Recording has not commenced due to what Town Manager Toby Cordek characterized as “equipment problems.”

A resolution was passed to apply to PADOT for install left turn traffic signals for both approaches of Cumberland Rd. and southbound on Babcock Blvd. at the intersection of Cumberland Rd. and Babcock Blvd.
