In-depth timelines and supporting documentation can be found as part of a dedicated section on the district’s website. It is important to note, electronic surveys will be sent to parents, staff members, and students beginning Tuesday, November 14th and responses will be gathered through Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017.
On Thursday, November 9, Marshal Middle School hosted the first of two public forums regarding school start times and grade weighting. The forum began with a thirty minute presentation by Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Robert Scherrer covering the hows and whys these changes were being recommended and the anticipated timeline for these decisions. The last sixty minutes of the forum, were a Q&A session comprised of a panel of college admissions counselors and experts in the field of sleep and school start times. Questions were fielded from audience members and attendees at home via livestream and Slido. While not all questions submitted via Slido were answered, Dr. Scherrer assured all that the questions would be gathered and answered as part of a public FAQ that will be continually updated.
The next forum will be on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Carson Middle School. The meeting will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. R cheapest price for allegra egistration is strongly encouraged for all attendees. child care is available for ages 3-11 (registration required).
