Notes from the Town Council May Regular Business Meeting

May 21, 2018 ~ McCandless Town Council ratified movements to permit a school resource officer in North Allegheny school district and rescind specific “No Parking” zones.  They also recognized their finance assistant’s retirement.

Council voted unanimously in favor of the ordinance authorizing a school resource officer for North Allegheny schools.

No one from the board or the public commented on this issue.

They also unanimously voted to rescind “No Parking” zones on both sides of Arcadia Drive from its intersection with Perry Highway for 470 feet eastwardly, as well as on both sides of Pine Creek Road for 660 feet from its intersection with Meinert Road.

Finance Assistant Elaine Bell retires after 30 years of service to the Town.

Council also recognized Finance Assistant Elaine Bell, who is retiring after almost 30 years of service.

“She’s done so many things in that job—a variety of tasks in accounts payable and helping with the budget and helping us with purchasing and cash management,” Town Manager Tobias Cordek said.

Town Council had no new business.
